حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ ، أَنَّ أَنَسًا حَدَّثَهُمْ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ يَنْظُرُ مَا صَنَعَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ , فَانْطَلَقَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فَوَجَدَهُ قَدْ ضَرَبَهُ ابْنَا عَفْرَاءَ حَتَّى بَرَدَ ، قَالَ : أَأَنْتَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ ؟ قَالَ : فَأَخَذَ بِلِحْيَتِهِ ، قَالَ : وَهَلْ فَوْقَ رَجُلٍ قَتَلْتُمُوهُ , أَوْ رَجُلٍ قَتَلَهُ قَوْمُهُ ؟ قَالَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ : أَنْتَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے احمد بن یونس نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے زہیر نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے سلیمان تیمی نے بیان کیا، ان سے انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ   نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ( اور دوسری سند ) امام بخاری رحمہ اللہ نے فرمایا، مجھ سے عمرو بن خالد نے بیان کیا، ہم سے زہیر بن معاویہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے سلیمان تیمی نے اور ان سے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”کوئی ہے جو معلوم کرے کہ ابوجہل کا کیا حشر ہوا؟“ ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ حقیقت حال معلوم کرنے آئے تو دیکھا کے عفراء کے بیٹوں ( معاذ اور معوذ رضی اللہ عنہما ) نے اسے قتل کر دیا ہے اور اس کا جسم ٹھنڈا پڑا ہے۔ انہوں نے دریافت کیا، کیا تو ہی ابوجہل ہے؟ انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ پھر ابن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس کی ڈاڑھی پکڑ لی۔ ابوجہل نے کہا، کیا اس سے بھی بڑا کوئی آدمی ہے جسے تم نے آج قتل کر ڈالا ہے؟ یا ( اس نے یہ کہا کہ کیا اس سے بھی بڑا ) کوئی آدمی ہے جسے اس کی قوم نے قتل کر ڈالا ہے؟ احمد بن یونس نے ( اپنی روایت میں ) «أنت» ابوجھل کے الفاظ بیان کئے ہیں۔ یعنی انہوں نے یہ پوچھا، کیا تو ہی ابوجہل ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, Who will go and see what has happened to Abu Jahl? Ibn Mas`ud went and found that the two sons of 'Afra had struck him fatally (and he was in his last breaths). `Abdullah bin Mas`ud said, Are you Abu Jahl? And took him by the beard. Abu Jahl said, Can there be a man superior to one you have killed or one whom his own folk have killed?
