حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادٌ ، عَنْ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَصَابَتْنَا مَجَاعَةٌ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ ، فَإِنَّ الْقُدُورَ لَتَغْلِي ، قَالَ : وَبَعْضُهَا نَضِجَتْ ، فَجَاءَ مُنَادِي النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَا تَأْكُلُوا مِنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ شَيْئًا وَأَهْرِقُوهَا ، قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي أَوْفَى : فَتَحَدَّثْنَا أَنَّهُ إِنَّمَا نَهَى عَنْهَا لِأَنَّهَا لَمْ تُخَمَّسْ ، وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ : نَهَى عَنْهَا الْبَتَّةَ لِأَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَأْكُلُ الْعَذِرَةَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے سعید بن سلیمان نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے عباد نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے شیبانی نے بیان کیا اور انہوں نے ابن ابی اوفی رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا کہ   غزوہ خیبر میں ایک موقع پر ہم بہت بھوکے تھے ‘ ادھر ہانڈیوں میں ابال آ رہا تھا ( گدھے کا گوشت پکایا جا رہا تھا ) اور کچھ پک بھی گئیں تھیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے منادی نے اعلان کیا کہ گدھے کے گوشت کا ایک ذرہ بھی نہ کھاؤ اور اسے پھینک دو۔ ابن ابی اوفی رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ پھر بعض لوگوں نے کہا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کی ممانعت اس لیے کی ہے کہ ابھی اس میں سے خمس نہیں نکالا گیا تھا اور بعض لوگوں کا خیال تھا کہ آپ نے اس کی واقعی ممانعت ( ہمیشہ کے لیے ) کر دی ہے ‘ کیونکہ یہ گندگی کھاتا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Ibn Abi `Aufa: We where afflicted with severe hunger on the day of Khaibar. While the cooking pots were boiling and some of the food was well-cooked, the announcer of the Prophet came to say, Do not eat anything the donkey-meat and upset the cooking pots. We then thought that the Prophet had prohibited such food because the Khumus had not been taken out of it. Some others said, He prohibited the meat of donkeys from the point of view of principle, because donkeys used to eat dirty things.
