حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ شُرَحْبِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ الْعَدَوِيِّ : أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ وَهُوَ يَبْعَثُ الْبُعُوثَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ : ائْذَنْ لِي أَيُّهَا الْأَمِيرُ أُحَدِّثْكَ قَوْلًا قَامَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : الْغَدَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ سَمِعَتْهُ أُذُنَايَ وَوَعَاهُ قَلْبِي وَأَبْصَرَتْهُ عَيْنَايَ حِينَ تَكَلَّمَ بِهِ إِنَّهُ حَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : إِنْ مَكَّةَ حَرَّمَهَا اللَّهُ ، وَلَمْ يُحَرِّمْهَا النَّاسُ ، لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرِئٍ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ يَسْفِكَ بِهَا دَمًا ، وَلَا يَعْضِدَ بِهَا شَجَرًا ، فَإِنْ أَحَدٌ تَرَخَّصَ لِقِتَالِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهَا ، فَقُولُوا لَهُ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَذِنَ لِرَسُولِهِ وَلَمْ يَأْذَنْ لَكُمْ ، وَإِنَّمَا أَذِنَ لِي فِيهَا سَاعَةً مِنْ نَهَارٍ ، وَقَدْ عَادَتْ حُرْمَتُهَا الْيَوْمَ كَحُرْمَتِهَا بِالْأَمْسِ ، وَلْيُبَلِّغْ الشَّاهِدُ الْغَائِبَ ، فَقِيلَ لِأَبِي شُرَيْحٍ : مَاذَا قَالَ لَكَ عَمْرٌو ؟ قَالَ : قَالَ : أَنَا أَعْلَمُ بِذَلِكَ مِنْكَ يَا أَبَا شُرَيْحٍ ، إِنَّ الْحَرَمَ لَا يُعِيذُ عَاصِيًا ، وَلَا فَارًّا بِدَمٍ ، وَلَا فَارًّا بِخَرْبَةٍ ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ : الْخَرْبَةُ : الْبَلِيَّةُ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے سعید بن شرحبیل نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے مقبری نے کہ   ابوشریح عدوی رضی اللہ عنہ نے ( مدینہ کے امیر ) عمرو بن سعید سے کہا جب کہ عمرو بن سعید ( عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہما کے خلاف ) مکہ کی طرف لشکر بھیج رہے تھے کہ اے امیر! مجھے اجازت دیجئیے کہ میں آپ سے ایک حدیث بیان کروں جو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فتح مکہ کے دوسرے دن ارشاد فرمائی تھی۔ اس حدیث کو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ارشاد فرما رہے تھے تو میں اپنی آنکھوں سے آپ کو دیکھ رہا تھا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پہلے اللہ کی حمد و ثنا بیان کی اور پھر فرمایا ‘ بلاشبہ مکہ کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے حرمت والا شہر قرار دیا ہے کسی انسان نے اسے اپنے طرف سے حرمت والا قرار نہیں دیا۔ اس لیے کسی شخص کے لیے بھی جو اللہ اور یوم آخرت پر ایمان رکھتا ہو ‘ جائز نہیں کہ اس میں کسی کا خون بہائے اور کوئی اس سر زمیں کا کوئی درخت کاٹے اور اگر کوئی شخص رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ( فتح مکہ کے موقع پر ) جنگ سے اپنے لیے بھی رخصت نکالے تو تم اس سے کہہ دینا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے صرف اپنے رسول کو ( تھوڑی دیر کے لیے ) اس کی اجازت دی تھی۔ ہمارے لیے بالکل اجازت نہیں ہے اور مجھے بھی اس کی اجازت دن کے تھوڑے سے حصے کے لیے ملی تھی اور آج پھر اس کی حرمت اسی طرح لوٹ آئی ہے جس طرح کل یہ شہر حرمت والا تھا۔ پس جو لوگ یہاں موجود ہیں وہ ( ان کو میرا کلام ) پہنچا دیں جو موجود نہیں۔ ابوشریح سے پوچھا گیا کہ عمرو بن سعید نے آپ کو پھر جواب کیا دیا تھا؟ تو انہوں نے بتایا کہ اس نے کہا کہ میں یہ مسائل تم سے زیادہ جانتا ہوں ‘ حرم کسی گنہگار کو پناہ نہیں دیتا ‘ نہ کسی کا خون کر کے بھاگنے والے کو پناہ دیتا ہے ‘ مفسد کو بھی پناہ نہیں دیتا۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Shuraih: Al-Adawi that he said to `Amr bin Sa`id while the latter was sending troops in batches to Mecca, O chief! Allow me to tell you a statement which Allah's Apostle said on the second day of the Conquest of Mecca. My two ears heard it and my heart remembered it and my two eyes saw him when he said it. He (i.e. the Prophet) praised Allah and then said, 'Mecca has been made a sanctuary by Allah and not by the people, so it is not lawful for a person, who believes in Allah and the Last Day to shed blood in it, or to cut its trees and if someone asks the permission to fight in Mecca because Allah's Apostle was allowed to fight in it, say to him; Allah permitted His Apostle and did not allow you, and even he (i.e. the Apostle) was allowed for a short period of the day, and today its (Mecca's sanctity has become the same as it was before (of old) so those who are present should inform those who are absent (this Hadith). Then Abu Shuraih, was asked, What did `Amr say to you? Abu Shuraih said, He said, I knew that better than you, O Abu Shuraih! The Haram (i.e. Mecca) does not give refuge to a sinner or a fleeing murderer or a person running away after causing destruction.
