حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، خُذِ الْعَفْوَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْعُرْفِ سورة الأعراف آية 199 ، قَالَ : مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا فِي أَخْلَاقِ النَّاسِ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے یحییٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے وکیع نے بیان کیا، ان سے ہشام نے، ان سے ان کے والد نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ   آیت «خذ العفو وأمر بالعرف‏» ”معافی اختیار کیجئے اور نیک کام کا حکم دیتے رہئیے۔“ لوگوں کے اخلاق کی اصلاح کے لیے ہی نازل ہوئی ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated `Abdullah bin AzZubair: (The Verse) Hold to forgiveness; command what is right... was revealed by Allah except in connection with the character of the people. `Abdullah bin Az-Zubair said: Allah ordered His Prophet to forgive the people their misbehavior (towards him).
