حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ ، أَنَّ حُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ أَخْبَرَهُ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَرَقَهُ وَفَاطِمَةَ ، قَالَ : أَلَا تُصَلِّيَانِ ؟ . رَجْمًا بِالْغَيْبِ : لَمْ يَسْتَبِنْ ، فُرُطًا : يُقَالُ نَدَمًا ، سُرَادِقُهَا : مِثْلُ السُّرَادِقِ وَالْحُجْرَةِ الَّتِي تُطِيفُ بِالْفَسَاطِيطِ يُحَاوِرُهُ مِنَ الْمُحَاوَرَةِ ، لَكِنَّا هُوَ اللَّهُ رَبِّي : أَيْ لَكِنْ أَنَا هُوَ اللَّهُ رَبِّي ، ثُمَّ حَذَفَ الْأَلِفَ وَأَدْغَمَ إِحْدَى النُّونَيْنِ فِي الْأُخْرَى ، وَفَجَّرْنَا خِلَالَهُمَا نَهَرًا ، يَقُولُ : بَيْنَهُمَا ، زَلَقًا : لَا يَثْبُتُ فِيهِ قَدَمٌ ، هُنَالِكَ الْوِلَايَةُ : مَصْدَرُ الْوَلِيِّ ، عُقُبًا : عَاقِبَةً ، وَعُقْبَى وَعُقْبَةً وَاحِدٌ وَهِيَ الْآخِرَةُ قِبَلًا ، وَقُبُلًا وَقَبَلًا اسْتِئْنَافًا ، لِيُدْحِضُوا : لِيُزِيلُوا الدَّحْضُ الزَّلَقُ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے علی بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے یعقوب بن ابراہیم بن سعد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے میرے والد نے بیان کیا، ان سے صالح نے، ان سے ابن شہاب نے، کہا مجھے علی بن حسین نے خبر دی، انہیں حسین بن علی رضی اللہ عنہما نے خبر دی اور انہیں علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رات کے وقت ان کے اور فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے گھر آئے اور فرمایا۔ تم لوگ تہجد کی نماز نہیں پڑھتے ( آخر حدیث تک ) ۔ «رجما بالغيب‏» یعنی سنی سنائی اور ان کو خود کچھ علم نہیں۔ «فرطا‏» ندامت، شرمندگی۔ «سرادقها‏» یعنی قناتوں کی طرح سب طرف سے ان کو آگ گھیر لے گی جیسے کوٹھری کو سب طرف سے خیمے گھیر لیتے ہیں۔ «يحاوره‏»،‏‏‏‏ «محاورة» سے نکلا ہے یعنی گفتگو کرنا، تکرار کرنا۔ «لكنا هو الله ربي‏» اصل میں «لكن أنا هو الله ربي» تھا «أنا» کا ہمزہ حذف کر کے نون کو نون میں ادغام کر دیا «لكنا» ہو گیا۔ «خلالهما نهرا» یعنی «بينهما» ان کے بیچ میں۔ «زلقا» چکنا، صاف جس پر پاؤں پھسلے ( جمے نہیں ) ۔ «هنالك الولاية‏»،‏‏‏‏ «ولايت‏»،‏‏‏‏ «ولي» کا مصدر ہے۔ «عقبا‏»،‏‏‏‏ «عاقبت» اسی طرح «عقبى» اور «عقبة» سب کا ایک ہی معنی ہے یعنی آخرت۔ «قبلا» اور «قبلا» اور «قبلا» ( تینوں طرح پڑھا ہے ) یعنی سامنے آنا۔ «ليدحضوا‏»،‏‏‏‏ «دحض» سے نکلا ہے یعنی پھسلانا ( مطلب یہ ہے کہ حق بات کو ناحق کریں ) ۔

English Translation

Narrated `Ali: That one night Allah's Messenger came to him and Fatima and said, Don't you (both offer the (Tahajjud) prayer? `Ali said, 'When Allah wishes us to get up, we get up. The Prophet then recited: 'But man is more quarrelsome than anything.' (18.54) (See Hadith No. 227,Vol. 2)
