حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُجَاهِدٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جُلُوسٌ إِذَا أُتِيَ بِجُمَّارِ نَخْلَةٍ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ لَمَا بَرَكَتُهُ كَبَرَكَةِ الْمُسْلِمِ ، فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ يَعْنِي النَّخْلَةَ ، فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ثُمَّ الْتَفَتُّ فَإِذَا أَنَا عَاشِرُ عَشَرَةٍ أَنَا أَحْدَثُهُمْ ، فَسَكَتُّ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے عمر بن حفص بن غیاث نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ہمارے والد نے بیان کیا، ان سے اعمش نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھ سے مجاہد نے بیان کیا اور ان سے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ   ہم نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں بیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ کھجور کے درخت کا گابھہ لایا گیا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ بعض درخت ایسے ہوتے ہیں جن کی برکت مسلمان کی برکت کی طرح ہوتی ہے۔ میں نے خیال کیا کہ آپ کا اشارہ کھجور کے درخت کی طرف ہے۔ میں نے سوچا کہ کہہ دوں کہ وہ درخت کھجور کا ہوتا ہے، یا رسول اللہ! لیکن پھر جو میں نے مڑ کر دیکھا تو مجلس میں میرے علاوہ نو آدمی اور تھے اور میں ان میں سب سے چھوٹا تھا۔ اس لیے میں خاموش رہا پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ وہ درخت کھجور کا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: While we were sitting with the Prophet, fresh dates were brought to him. The Prophet said, There is a tree among the trees which is as blessed as a Muslim I thought that it was the date palm tree and intended to say, It is the date-palm tree, O Allah's Apostle! but I looked behind to see that I was the tenth and youngest of ten men present there, so I kept quiet' Then the Prophet said, It is the datepalm tree.
