حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي السَّفَرِ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَدِيَّ بْنَ حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْمِعْرَاضِ ؟ فَقَالَ : إِذَا أَصَبْتَ بِحَدِّهِ فَكُلْ فَإِذَا أَصَابَ بِعَرْضِهِ فَقَتَلَ فَإِنَّهُ وَقِيذٌ ، فَلَا تَأْكُلْ ، فَقُلْتُ : أُرْسِلُ كَلْبِي ، قَالَ : إِذَا أَرْسَلْتَ كَلْبَكَ وَسَمَّيْتَ فَكُلْ ، قُلْتُ : فَإِنْ أَكَلَ ؟ قَالَ : فَلَا تَأْكُلْ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يُمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ إِنَّمَا أَمْسَكَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ ، قُلْتُ : أُرْسِلُ كَلْبِي فَأَجِدُ مَعَهُ كَلْبًا آخَرَ ، قَالَ : لَا تَأْكُلْ ، فَإِنَّكَ إِنَّمَا سَمَّيْتَ عَلَى كَلْبِكَ وَلَمْ تُسَمِّ عَلَى آخَرَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے سلیمان بن حرب نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے عبداللہ بن ابی السفر نے، ان سے شعبی نے کہا کہ میں نے عدی بن حاتم رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ   میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بے پر کے تیر یا لکڑی گز سے شکار کے بارے میں پوچھا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جب تم اس کی نوک سے شکار کو مار لو تو اسے کھاؤ لیکن اگر اس کی عرض کی طرف سے شکار کو لگے اور اس سے وہ مر جائے تو وہ «موقوذة‏» ( مردار ) ہے اسے نہ کھاؤ۔ میں نے سوال کیا کہ میں اپنا کتا بھی ( شکار کے لیے ) دوڑاتا ہوں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جب تم اپنے کتے پر بسم اللہ پڑھ کر شکار کے پیچھے دوڑاؤ تو وہ شکار کھا سکتے ہو۔ میں نے پوچھا اور اگر وہ کتا شکار میں سے کھا لے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ پھر نہ کھاؤ کیونکہ وہ شکار اس نے تمہارے لیے نہیں پکڑا تھا، صرف اپنے لیے پکڑا تھا۔ میں نے پوچھا میں بعض وقت اپنا کتا چھوڑتا ہوں اور بعد میں اس کے ساتھ دوسرا کتا بھی پاتا ہوں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ پھر ( اس کا شکار ) نہ کھاؤ کیونکہ تم نے بسم اللہ صرف اپنے کتے پر پڑھی ہے، دوسرے پر نہیں پڑھی ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated `Adi bin Hatim: I asked Allah's Apostle about the Mi'rad. He said, If you hit the game with its sharp edge, eat it, but if the Mi'rad hits the game with its shaft with a hit by its broad side do not eat it, for it has been beaten to death with a piece of wood. (i.e. unlawful). I asked, If I let loose my trained hound after a game? He said, If you let loose your trained hound after game, and mention the name of Allah, then you can eat. I said, If the hound eats of the game? He said Then you should not eat of it, for the hound has hunted the game for itself and not for you. I said, Some times I send my hound and then I find some other hound with it? He said Don't eat the game, as you have mentioned the Name of Allah on your dog only and not on the other.
