حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : أَطْفِئُوا الْمَصَابِيحَ إِذَا رَقَدْتُمْ ، وَغَلِّقُوا الْأَبْوَابَ ، وَأَوْكُوا الْأَسْقِيَةَ ، وَخَمِّرُوا الطَّعَامَ وَالشَّرَابَ ، وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ : وَلَوْ بِعُودٍ تَعْرُضُهُ عَلَيْهِ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ہمام بن یحییٰ نے بیان کیا، ان سے عطاء بن ابی رباح نے اور ان سے جابر بن عبداللہ انصاری رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تم جب سونے لگو تو چراغ بجھا دو۔ دروازے بند کر دو، مشکوں کے منہ باندھ دو اور کھانے پینے کے برتنوں کو ڈھانپ دو۔ جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میرا خیال ہے کہ یہ بھی کہا خواہ لکڑی ہی کے ذریعہ سے ڈھک سکو جو اس کی چوڑائی میں بسم اللہ کہہ کر رکھ دی جائے۔

English Translation

Narrated Jabir: Allah's Apostle said, Extinguish the lamps when you go to bed; close your doors; tie the mouths of your water skins, and cover the food and drinks. I think he added, . . . even with a stick you place across the container.
