حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا اطَّلَعَ مِنْ جُحْرٍ فِي دَارِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَحُكُّ رَأْسَهُ بِالْمِدْرَى ، فَقَالَ : لَوْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّكَ تَنْظُرُ لَطَعَنْتُ بِهَا فِي عَيْنِكَ ، إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الْإِذْنُ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْأَبْصَارِ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے آدم بن ابی ایاس نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابن ابی ذئب نے بیان کیا، ان سے زہری نے، ان سے سہل بن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   ایک صاحب نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے دیوار کے ایک سوراخ سے گھر کے اندر دیکھا نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس وقت اپنا سر کنگھے سے کھجلا رہے تھے پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اگر مجھے معلوم ہوتا کہ تم جھانک رہے ہو تو میں تمہاری آنکھ پھوڑ دیتا ارے اذن ( اجازت ) لینا تو اس کے لیے ہے کہ آدمی کی نظر ( کسی کے ) ستر پر نہ پڑے۔

English Translation

Narrated Sa`d: A man peeped into the house of the Prophet through a hole while the Prophet was scratching his head with a Midrai (a certain kind of comb). On that the Prophet said (to him), If I had known you had been looking, then I would have pierced your eye with that instrument, because the asking of permission has been ordained so that one would not see things unlawfully.
