Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: While the Prophet was praying, he saw sputum (on the wall) of the mosque, in the direction of the Qibla, and so he scraped it off with his hand, and the sign of disgust (was apparent from his face) and then said, Whenever anyone of you is in prayer, he should not spit in front of him (in prayer) because Allah is in front of him.

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جُوَيْرِيَةُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : بَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي رَأَى فِي قِبْلَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ نُخَامَةً فَحَكَّهَا بِيَدِهِ فَتَغَيَّظَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا كَانَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ حِيَالَ وَجْهِهِ ، فَلَا يَتَنَخَّمَنَّ حِيَالَ وَجْهِهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ .

ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے جویریہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے نافع نے بیان کیا اور ان سے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نماز پڑھ رہے تھے کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مسجد میں قبلہ کی جانب منہ کا تھوک دیکھا۔ پھر آپ نے اسے اپنے ہاتھ سے صاف کیا اور غصہ ہوئے پھر فرمایا جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص نماز میں ہوتا ہے اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے سامنے ہوتا ہے۔ اس لیے کوئی شخص نماز میں اپنے سامنے نہ تھوکے۔
