Narrated `Aisha: Whenever Allah's Apostle was given the choice of one of two matters he would choose the easier of the two as long as it was not sinful to do so, but if it was sinful, he would not approach it. Allah's Apostle never took revenge over anybody for his own sake but (he did) only when Allah's legal bindings were outraged, in which case he would take revenge for Allah's sake. حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : مَا خُيِّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ أَمْرَيْنِ قَطُّ إِلَّا أَخَذَ أَيْسَرَهُمَا مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ إِثْمًا ، فَإِنْ كَانَ إِثْمًا كَانَ أَبْعَدَ النَّاسِ مِنْهُ ، وَمَا انْتَقَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِنَفْسِهِ فِي شَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا أَنْ تُنْتَهَكَ حُرْمَةُ اللَّهِ فَيَنْتَقِمَ بِهَا لِلَّهِ .

ہم سے عبداللہ بن مسلمہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے مالک نے، ان سے ابن شہاب نے، ان سے عروہ نے اور ان سے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ   جب بھی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دو چیزوں میں سے ایک کو اختیار کرنے کا اختیار دیا گیا تو آپ نے ہمیشہ ان میں آسان چیزوں کو اختیار فرمایا، بشرطیکہ اس میں گناہ کا کوئی پہلو نہ ہوتا۔ اگر اس میں گناہ کا کوئی پہلو ہوتا تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس سے سب سے زیادہ دور رہتے اور نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنی ذات کے لیے کسی سے بدلہ نہیں لیا، البتہ اگر کوئی شخص اللہ کی حرمت و حد کو توڑتا تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان سے تو محض اللہ کی رضا مندی کے لیے بدلہ لیتے۔
