حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَهُ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ خَيْرٌ ؟ قَالَ : رَجُلٌ جَاهَدَ بِنَفْسِهِ ، وَمَالِهِ ، وَرَجُلٌ فِي شِعْبٍ مِنَ الشِّعَابِ يَعْبُدُ رَبَّهُ وَيَدَعُ النَّاسَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ ، تَابَعَهُ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ ، وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، وَالنُّعْمَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، وَقَالَ مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، أَوْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ يُونُسُ ، وَابْنُ مُسَافِرٍ ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے ابوالیمان نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم کو شعیب نے خبر دی، ان سے زہری نے بیان کیا کہ مجھ سے عطاء بن یزید نے بیان کیا اور ان سے ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ   سوال کیا گیا: اے اللہ کے رسول! محمد بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، ان سے اوزاعی نے بیان کیا، ان سے زہری نے بیان کیا، ان سے عطاء بن یزید لیثی نے بیان کیا اور ان سے ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ ایک اعرابی نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور پوچھا: یا رسول اللہ! کون شخص سب سے اچھا ہے؟ فرمایا کہ وہ شخص جس نے اپنی جان اور مال کے ذریعہ جہاد کیا اور وہ شخص جو کسی پہاڑ کی کھوہ میں ٹھہرا ہوا اپنے رب کی عبادت کرتا ہے اور لوگوں کو اپنی برائی سے محفوظ رکھتا ہے۔ اس روایت کی متابعت زبیدی، سلیمان بن کثیر اور نعمان نے زہری سے کی۔ اور معمر نے زہری سے بیان کیا، ان سے عطاء یا عبیداللہ نے، ان سے ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا اور ان سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اور یونس و ابن مسافر اور یحییٰ بن سعید نے ابن شہاب ( زہری ) سے بیان کیا، ان سے عطاء نے اور ان سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے کسی صحابی نے اور ان سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: A bedouin came to the Prophet and said, O Allah's Apostle! Who is the best of mankind! The Prophet said, A man who strives for Allah's Cause with his life and property, and also a man who lives (all alone) in a mountain path among the mountain paths to worship his Lord and save the people from his evil.
