حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُفَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ سَالِمٌ : قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ ، قَالَ عُمَرُ : فَوَاللَّهِ مَا حَلَفْتُ بِهَا مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاكِرًا ، وَلَا آثِرًا ، قَالَ مُجَاهِدٌ : أَوْ أَثَارَةٍ مِنْ عِلْمٍ سورة الأحقاف آية 4 ، يَأْثُرُ عِلْمًا ، تَابَعَهُ عُقَيْلٌ ، وَالزُّبَيْدِيُّ ، وَإِسْحَاقُ الْكَلْبِيُّ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، وَمَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : عُمَرَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے سعید بن عفیر نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابن وہب نے بیان کیا، ان سے یونس نے، ان سے ابن شہاب نے، ان سے سالم نے کہ ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا کہ میں نے عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا کہ   نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے فرمایا تھا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے تمہیں باپ دادوں کی قسم کھانے سے منع کیا ہے۔ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا واللہ! پھر میں نے ان کی نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ممانعت سننے کے بعد کبھی قسم نہیں کھائی نہ اپنی طرف سے غیر اللہ کی قسم کھائی نہ کسی دوسرے کی زبان سے نقل کی۔ مجاہد نے کہا سورۃ الاحقاف میں جو «أثرة من علم‏» ہے اس کا معنی یہ ہے کہ علم کی کوئی بات نقل کرتا ہو۔ یونس کے ساتھ اس حدیث کو عقیل اور محمد بن ولید زبیدی اور اسحاق بن یحییٰ کلبی نے بھی زہری سے روایت کیا اور سفیان بن عیینہ اور معمر نے اس کو زہری سے روایت کیا، انہوں نے سالم سے، انہوں نے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے، انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کہ آپ نے عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کو غیر اللہ کی قسم کھاتے سنا۔ روایت میں لفظ «اثارة» کی تفسیر «اثرا» کی مناسبت سے بیان کر دی کیونکہ دونوں کا مادہ ایک ہی ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Ibn `Umar: I heard `Umar saying, Allah's Apostle said to me, 'Allah forbids you to swear by your fathers. `Umar said, By Allah! Since I heard that from the Prophet , I have not taken such an oath, neither intentionally, nor by reporting the oath of someone else.
