Baab Qasmon Aur Nazron Ke Bayan Main

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، فَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَصُومَ كُلَّ يَوْمِ ثَلَاثَاءَ ، أَوْ أَرْبِعَاءَ مَا عِشْتُ ، فَوَافَقْتُ هَذَا الْيَوْمَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ، فَقَالَ : أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِوَفَاءِ النَّذْرِ ، وَنُهِينَا أَنْ نَصُومَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ، فَأَعَادَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : مِثْلَهُ لَا يَزِيدُ عَلَيْهِ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے عبداللہ بن مسلمہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے یزید بن ذریع نے بیان کیا، ان سے یونس نے، ان سے زیادہ بن جبیر نے بیان کیا کہ میں ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کے ساتھ تھا ایک شخص نے ان سے پوچھا کہ میں نے نذر مانی ہے کہ ہر منگل یا بدھ کے دن روزہ رکھوں گا۔ اتفاق سے اسی دن کی بقر عید پڑ گئی ہے؟ ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے نذر پوری کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے اور ہمیں بقر عید کے دن روزہ رکھنے کی ممانعت کی گئی ہے۔ اس شخص نے دوبارہ اپنا سوال دہرایا تو آپ نے پھر اس سے صرف اتنی ہی بات کہی اس پر کوئی زیادتی نہیں کی۔

English Translation

Narrated Ziyad bin Jubair: I was with Ibn `Umar when a man asked him, I have vowed to fast every Tuesday or Wednesday throughout my life and if the day of my fasting coincided with the day of Nahr (the first day of `Id-al- Adha), (What shall I do?) Ibn `Umar said, Allah has ordered the vows to be fulfilled, and we are forbidden to fast on the day of Nahr. The man repeated his question and Ibn `Umar repeated his former answer, adding nothing more.
