حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الذَّنْبِ أَكْبَرُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ قَالَ: «أَنْ تَدْعُوَ لِلَّهِ نِدًّا، وَهْوَ خَلَقَكَ». قَالَ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ قَالَ: «ثُمَّ أَنْ تَقْتُلَ وَلَدَكَ، أَنْ يَطْعَمَ مَعَكَ». قَالَ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ قَالَ: «ثُمَّ أَنْ تُزَانِيَ بِحَلِيلَةِ جَارِكَ». فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ تَصْدِيقَهَا: {وَالَّذِينَ لاَ يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَلاَ يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ وَلاَ يَزْنُونَ وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ} الآيَةَ.

Urdu Translation

ہم سے قتیبہ بن سعید نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے جریر بن عبدالحمید نے بیان کیا، ان سے اعمش نے، ان سے ابووائل نے، ان سے عمرو بن شرجیل نے بیان کیا، ان سے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   ایک صاحب یعنی خود آپ نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ! اللہ کے نزدیک کون سا گناہ سب سے بڑا ہے؟ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا یہ کہ تم اللہ کا کسی کو شریک ٹھہراؤ جبکہ اس نے تمہیں پیدا کیا ہے۔ پوچھا: پھر کون سا؟ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ پھر یہ کہ تم اپنے لڑکے کو اس ڈر سے مار ڈالو کہ وہ تمہارے ساتھ کھانا کھائے گا۔ پوچھا: پھر کون سا؟ فرمایا پھر یہ کہ تم اپنے پڑوسی کی بیوی سے زنا کرو۔ پھر اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس کی تصدیق میں یہ آیت نازل کی «والذين لا يدعون مع الله إلها آخر ولا يقتلون النفس التي حرم الله إلا بالحق ولا يزنون ومن يفعل ذلك يلق أثاما يضاعف له العذاب» ”اور وہ لوگ جو اللہ کے ساتھ کسی دوسرے معبود کو نہیں پکارتے اور نہ کسی ایسے انسان کی ناحق جان لیتے ہیں جسے اللہ نے حرام کیا اور نہ زنا کرتے ہیں اور جو کوئی ایسا کرے گا۔“ آخر آیت تک۔

English Translation

Narrated `Abdullah: A man said, O Allah's Apostle! Which sin is the greatest in Allah's Sight? The Prophet said, To set up a rival unto Allah though He Alone created you . The man said, What is next? The Prophet said, To kill your son lest he should share your food with you. The man said, What is next? The Prophet said, To commit illegal sexual intercourse with the wife of your neighbor. So Allah revealed in confirmation of this narration:-- 'And those who invoke not with Allah, any other god. Nor kill, such life as Allah has forbidden except for just cause nor commit illegal sexual intercourse. And whoever does this shall receive the punishment.' (25.68)
