حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو ظَبْيَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يُحَدِّثُ ، قَالَ : بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْحُرَقَةِ مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ : فَصَبَّحْنَا الْقَوْمَ فَهَزَمْنَاهُمْ ، قَالَ : وَلَحِقْتُ أَنَا وَرَجُلٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا غَشِينَاهُ ، قَالَ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، قَالَ : فَكَفَّ عَنْهُ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، فَطَعَنْتُهُ بِرُمْحِي حَتَّى قَتَلْتُهُ ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا ، بَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ لِي : يَا أُسَامَةُ ، أَقَتَلْتَهُ بَعْدَ مَا قَالَ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ؟ قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّمَا كَانَ مُتَعَوِّذًا ، قَالَ : أَقَتَلْتَهُ بَعْدَ مَا قَالَ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ؟ قَالَ : فَمَا زَالَ يُكَرِّرُهَا عَلَيَّ ، حَتَّى تَمَنَّيْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ أَسْلَمْتُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے عمرو بن زرارہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ہشیم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے حصین نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابوظبیان نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ میں نے اسامہ بن زید بن حارثہ رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا، انہوں نے بیان کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ   ہمیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے قبیلہ جہینہ کی ایک شاخ کی طرف ( مہم پر ) بھیجا۔ بیان کیا کہ پھر ہم نے ان لوگوں کو صبح کے وقت جا لیا اور انہیں شکست دے دی۔ راوی نے بیان کیا کہ میں اور قبیلہ انصار کے ایک صاحب قبیلہ جہینہ کے ایک شخص تک پہنچے اور جب ہم نے اسے گھیر لیا تو اس نے کہا «لا إله إلا الله» انصاری صحابی نے تو ( یہ سنتے ہی ) ہاتھ روک لیا لیکن میں نے اپنے نیزے سے اسے قتل کر دیا۔ راوی نے بیان کیا کہ جب ہم واپس آئے تو اس واقعہ کی خبر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ملی۔ بیان کیا کہ پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے فرمایا ”اسامہ! کیا تم نے کلمہ «لا إله إلا الله» کا اقرار کرنے کے بعد اسے قتل کر ڈالا۔“ میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اس نے صرف جان بچانے کے لیے اس کا اقرار کیا تھا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پھر فرمایا ”تم نے اسے «لا إله إلا الله» کا اقرار کرنے کے بعد قتل کر ڈالا۔“ بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم اس جملہ کو اتنی دفعہ دہراتے رہے کہ میرے دل میں یہ خواہش پیدا ہو گئی کہ کاش میں اس سے پہلے مسلمان نہ ہوا ہوتا۔

English Translation

Narrated Usama bin Zaid bin Haritha: Allah's Apostle sent us (to fight) against Al-Huraqa (one of the sub-tribes) of Juhaina. We reached those people in the morning and defeated them. A man from the Ansar and I chased one of their men and when we attacked him, he said, None has the right to be worshipped but Allah. The Ansari refrained from killing him but I stabbed him with my spear till I killed him. When we reached (Medina), this news reached the Prophet. He said to me, O Usama! You killed him after he had said, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah? ' I said, O Allah's Apostle! He said so in order to save himself. The Prophet said, You killed him after he had said, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah. The Prophet kept on repeating that statement till I wished I had not been a Muslim before that day.
