Baab Fitno Ka Bayan Mein

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا خَلَعَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ يَزِيدَ بْنَ مُعَاوِيَةَ جَمَعَ ابْنُ عُمَر حَشَمَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : يُنْصَبُ لِكُلِّ غَادِرٍ لِوَاءٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَإِنَّا قَدْ بَايَعْنَا هَذَا الرَّجُلَ عَلَى بَيْعِ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ، وَإِنِّي لَا أَعْلَمُ غَدْرًا أَعْظَمَ مِنْ أَنْ يُبَايَعَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى بَيْعِ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ثُمَّ يُنْصَبُ لَهُ الْقِتَالُ ، وَإِنِّي لَا أَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا مِنْكُمْ خَلَعَهُ ، وَلَا بَايَعَ فِي هَذَا الْأَمْرِ إِلَّا كَانَتِ الْفَيْصَلَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے سلیمان بن حرب نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے حماد بن زید نے بیان کیا، ان سے ایوب نے، ان سے نافع نے کہ   جب اہل مدینہ نے یزید بن معاویہ کی بیعت سے انکار کیا تو عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے اپنے خادموں اور لڑکوں کو جمع کیا اور کہا کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ ہر غدر کرنے والے کے لیے قیامت کے دن ایک جھنڈا کھڑا کیا جائے گا اور ہم نے اس شخص ( یزید ) کی بیعت، اللہ اور اس کے رسول کے نام پر کی ہے اور میرے علم میں کوئی غدر اس سے بڑھ کر نہیں ہے کہ کسی شخص سے اللہ اور اس کے رسول کے نام پر بیعت کی جائے اور پھر اس سے جنگ کی جائے اور دیکھو مدینہ والو! تم میں سے جو کوئی یزید کی بیعت کو توڑے اور دوسرے کسی سے بیعت کرے تو مجھ میں اور اس میں کوئی تعلق نہیں رہا، میں اس سے الگ ہوں۔

English Translation

Narrated Nafi`: When the people of Medina dethroned Yazid bin Muawiya, Ibn `Umar gathered his special friends and children and said, I heard the Prophet saying, 'A flag will be fixed for every betrayer on the Day of Resurrection,' and we have given the oath of allegiance to this person (Yazid) in accordance with the conditions enjoined by Allah and His Apostle and I do not know of anything more faithless than fighting a person who has been given the oath of allegiance in accordance with the conditions enjoined by Allah and His Apostle , and if ever I learn that any person among you has agreed to dethrone Yazid, by giving the oath of allegiance (to somebody else) then there will be separation between him and me.
