حَدَّثَنَا الْمَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ عَطَاءٌ ، قَالَ جَابِرٌ ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ ، وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ البُرْسَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِي أُنَاسٍ مَعَهُ ، قَالَ : أَهْلَلْنَا أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْحَجِّ خَالِصًا لَيْسَ مَعَهُ عُمْرَةٌ ، قَالَ عَطَاءٌ : قَالَ جَابِرٌ : فَقَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صُبْحَ رَابِعَةٍ مَضَتْ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا أَمَرَنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَحِلَّ ، وَقَالَ : أَحِلُّوا وَأَصِيبُوا مِنَ النِّسَاءِ ، قَالَ عَطَاءٌ ، قَالَ جَابِرٌ : وَلَمْ يَعْزِمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَكِنْ أَحَلَّهُنَّ لَهُمْ ، فَبَلَغَهُ أَنَّا نَقُولُ : لَمَّا لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْن عَرَفَةَ إِلَّا خَمْسٌ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَحِلَّ إِلَى نِسَائِنَا ، فَنَأْتِي عَرَفَةَ تَقْطُرُ مَذَاكِيرُنَا الْمَذْيَ ، قَالَ : وَيَقُولُ جَابِرٌ بِيَدِهِ هَكَذَا وَحَرَّكَهَا ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : قَدْ عَلِمْتُمْ أَنِّي أَتْقَاكُمْ لِلَّهِ ، وَأَصْدَقُكُمْ وَأَبَرُّكُمْ ، وَلَوْلَا هَدْيِي لَحَلَلْتُ كَمَا تَحِلُّونَ ، فَحِلُّوا ، فَلَوِ اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ مَا أَهْدَيْتُ ، فَحَلَلْنَا وَسَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے مکی بن ابراہیم نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن جریج نے بیان کیا، ان سے عطاء نے بیان کیا، ان سے جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے (دوسری سند) امام ابوعبداللہ بخاری رحمہ اللہ نے کہا کہ محمد بن بکر برقی نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن جریج نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھے عطاء نے خبر دی، انہوں نے جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، اس وقت اور لوگ بھی ان کے ساتھ تھے، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے صحابہ نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ خالص حج کا احرام باندھا اس کے ساتھ عمرہ کا نہیں باندھا۔ عطاء نے بیان کیا کہ جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم 4 ذی الحجہ کی صبح کو آئے اور جب ہم بھی حاضر ہوئے تو آپ نے ہمیں حکم دیا کہ ہم حلال ہو جائیں اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ حلال ہو جاؤ اور اپنی بیویوں کے پاس جاؤ۔ عطاء نے بیان کیا اور ان سے جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ ان پر یہ ضروری نہیں قرار دیا بلکہ صرف حلال کیا، پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو معلوم ہوا کہ ہم میں یہ بات ہو رہی ہے کہ عرفہ پہنچنے میں صرف پانچ دن رہ گئے ہیں اور پھر بھی نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں اپنی عورتوں کے پاس جانے کا حکم دیا ہے، کیا ہم عرفات اس حالت میں جائیں کہ مذی یا منی ہمارے ذکر سے ٹپک رہی ہو۔ عطاء نے کہا کہ جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اپنے ہاتھ سے اشارہ کیا کہ اس طرح مذی ٹپک رہی ہو، اس کو ہلایا۔ پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے ہوئے اور فرمایا، تمہیں معلوم ہے کہ میں تم میں اللہ سے سب سے زیادہ ڈرنے والا ہوں، تم میں سب سے زیادہ سچا ہوں اور سب سے زیادہ نیک ہوں اور اگر میرے پاس ہدی ( قربانی کا جانور ) نہ ہوتا تو میں بھی حلال ہو جاتا، پس تم بھی حلال ہو جاؤ۔ اگر مجھے وہ بات پہلے سے معلوم ہو جاتی جو بعد میں معلوم ہوئی تو میں قربانی کا جانور ساتھ نہ لاتا۔ چنانچہ ہم حلال ہو گئے اور ہم نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی بات سنی اور آپ کی اطاعت کی۔

English Translation

Narrated Ata: I heard Jabir bin `Abdullah in a gathering saying, We, the companions of Allah's Apostle assumed the state of Ihram to perform only Hajj without `Umra. Jabir added, The Prophet arrived (at Mecca) on the fourth of Dhul-Hijja. And when we arrived (in Mecca) the Prophet ordered us to finish the state of Ihram, saying, Finish your lhram and go to your wives (for sexual relation). Jabir added, The Prophet did not oblige us (to go to our wives) but he only made that legal for us. Then he heard that we were saying, When there remains only five days between us and the Day of `Arafat he orders us to finish our Ihram by sleeping with our wives in which case we will proceed to `Arafat with our male organs dribbling with semen?' (Jabir pointed out with his hand illustrating what he was saying). Allah's Apostle stood up and said, 'You (People) know that I am the most Allah-fearing, the most truthful and the best doer of good deeds (pious) from among you. If I had not brought the Hadi with me, I would have finished my Ihram as you will do, so finish your Ihram. If I had formerly known what I came to know lately, I would not have brought the Hadi with me.' So we finished our Ihram and listened to the Prophet and obeyed him. (See Hadith No. 713, Vol. 2)
