حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَمْرَةَ الضُّبَعِيُّ ، قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فَقَالَ : قَدِمَ وَفْدُ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالُوا : إِنَّ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ مِنْ مُضَرَ وَإِنَّا لَا نَصِلُ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا فِي أَشْهُرٍ حُرُمٍ ، فَمُرْنَا بِجُمَلٍ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ إِنْ عَمِلْنَا بِهِ دَخَلْنَا الْجَنَّةَ وَنَدْعُو إِلَيْهَا مَنْ وَرَاءَنَا قَالَ : آمُرُكُمْ بِأَرْبَعٍ وَأَنْهَاكُمْ ، عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ ، آمُرُكُمْ بِالْإِيمَانِ بِاللَّهِ وَهَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَا الْإِيمَانُ بِاللَّهِ ؟ شَهَادَةُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَإِقَامُ الصَّلَاةِ ، وَإِيتَاءُ الزَّكَاةِ ، وَتُعْطُوا مِنَ الْمَغْنَمِ الْخُمُسَ ، وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ : لَا تَشْرَبُوا فِي الدُّبَّاءِ ، وَالنَّقِيرِ ، وَالظُّرُوفِ الْمُزَفَّتَةِ ، وَالْحَنْتَمَةِ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے عمرو بن علی نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوعاصم نے بیان کیا، ان سے قرہ بن خالد نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوجمرہ ضبعی نے بیان کیا کہ   میں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے پوچھا: تو آپ نے فرمایا کہ قبیلہ عبدالقیس کا وفد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا اور انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمارے اور آپ کے درمیان قبیلہ مضر کے مشرکین حائل ہیں اور ہم آپ کے پاس صرف حرمت والے مہینوں میں ہی آ سکتے ہیں۔ اس لیے آپ کچھ ایسے جامع احکام ہمیں بتا دیجئیے کہ اگر ہم ان پر عمل کریں تو جنت میں جائیں اور ان کی طرف ان لوگوں کو دعوت دیں جو ہمارے پیچھے ہیں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ میں تمہیں چار کاموں کا حکم دیتا ہوں اور چار کاموں سے روکتا ہوں۔ میں تمہیں ایمان باللہ کا حکم دیتا ہوں۔ تمہیں معلوم ہے کہ ایمان باللہ کیا ہے؟ اس کی گواہی دینا ہے کہ اللہ کے سوا اور کوئی معبود نہیں اور نماز قائم کرنا اور زکوٰۃ دینے اور غنیمت میں سے پانچواں حصہ دینے کا حکم دیتا ہوں اور تمہیں چار کاموں سے روکتا ہوں، یہ کہ کدو کی تونبی اور لکڑی کے کریدے ہوئے برتن اور روغنی برتنوں اور سبز لاکھی برتنوں میں مت پیا کرو۔

English Translation

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The delegates of `Abdul Qais came to Allah's Apostle and said, The pagans of the tribe of Mudar intervene between you and us therefore we cannot come to you except in the Holy months. So please order us to do something good (Religious deeds) by which we may enter Paradise (by acting on them) and we may inform our people whom we have left behind to observe it. The Prophet said, I order you to do four things and forbid you from four things: I order you to believe in Allah. Do you know what is meant by belief in Allah? It is to testify that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, to offer prayers perfectly, to give Zakat, and to give Al-Khumus (one-fifth of the war booty) (in Allah's Cause). And I forbid you four things, (i.e., Do not drink alcoholic drinks) Ad-Dubba, An- Naqir, (pitched water skins), Az-Zuruf, Al-Muzaffat and Al--Hantam (names of utensils used for the preparation of alcoholic drinks).
