Narrated Al-Bara' bin `Azib: (He was not a liar) We used to pray behind the Prophet and when he said, Sami`a l-lahu liman hamidah , none of us would bend his back (to go for prostration) till the Prophet had placed his, forehead on the ground.

حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْخَطْمِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْبَرَاءُ بْنُ عَازِبٍ وَهُوَ غَيْرُ كَذُوبٍ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا نُصَلِّي خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَإِذَا قَالَ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ، لَمْ يَحْنِ أَحَدٌ مِنَّا ظَهْرَهُ حَتَّى يَضَعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَبْهَتَهُ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ .

ہم سے آدم بن ابی ایاس نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے اسرائیل نے ابواسحاق سے بیان کیا، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن یزید سے، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے براء بن عازب رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا، وہ جھوٹ نہیں بول سکتے تھے۔ آپ نے فرمایا کہ   ہم نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی اقتداء میں نماز پڑھتے تھے۔ جب آپ «سمع الله لمن حمده‏» کہتے ( یعنی رکوع سے سر اٹھاتے ) تو ہم میں سے کوئی اس وقت تک اپنی پیٹھ نہ جھکاتا جب تک آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنی پیشانی زمین پر نہ رکھ دیتے۔
