Sunan Abu Dawood 1042 - Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَجْعَلُ أَحَدُكُمْ نَصِيبًا لِلشَّيْطَانِ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ أَنْ لَا يَنْصَرِفَ إِلَّا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَكْثَرُ مَا يَنْصَرِفُ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ . قَالَ عُمَارَةُ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَيْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ بَعْدُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَرَأَيْتُ مَنَازِلَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   تم میں سے کوئی شخص اپنی نماز کا کچھ حصہ شیطان کے لیے نہ بنائے کہ وہ صرف دائیں طرف ہی سے پلٹے، حال یہ ہے کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا ہے کہ آپ اکثر بائیں طرف سے پلٹتے تھے، عمارہ کہتے ہیں: اس کے بعد میں مدینہ آیا تو میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے گھروں کو ( بحالت نماز ) آپ کے بائیں جانب دیکھا ۱؎۔

English Translation

Abdullah (bin Masud) said; One of you should not give a share from his prayer to the devil, that he does not turn away expect to his right side. I saw the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم often turning away to his left side. the narrator Umarah said: I came to Madina afterwards and saw that the houses of the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم were (built) in the left.
