Sunan Abu Dawood 1071 - Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ الْبَجَلِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ صَلَّى بِنَا ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ فِي يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ أَوَّلَ النَّهَارِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ رُحْنَا إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ إِلَيْنَا فَصَلَّيْنَا وُحْدَانًا وَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ بِالطَّائِفِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ ذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَصَابَ السُّنَّةَ.

Urdu Translation

عطاء بن ابورباح کہتے ہیں   عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہما نے ہمیں جمعہ کے دن صبح سویرے عید کی نماز پڑھائی، پھر جب ہم نماز جمعہ کے لیے چلے تو وہ ہماری طرف نکلے ہی نہیں، بالآخر ہم نے تنہا تنہا نماز پڑھی ۱؎ ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما اس وقت طائف میں تھے، جب وہ آئے تو ہم نے ان سے اس کا ذکر کیا تو آپ نے کہا: انہوں ( ابن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ ) نے سنت پر عمل کیا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: Ata ibn Abu Rabah said: Ibn az-Zubayr led us in the Eid prayer on Friday early in the morning. When we went to offer the Friday, he did not come out to us. So we prayed ourselves alone. At that time Ibn Abbas was present in at-Taif. When he came to us, we mentioned this (incident) to him. He said: He followed the sunnah.
