حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْبَزَّازُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْمُخْتَارِ بْنِ فُلْفُلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ صَلَّيْتُ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ لِأَنَسٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَرَآكُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ رَآنَا فَلَمْ يَأْمُرْنَا وَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا .

Urdu Translation

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانے میں مغرب سے پہلے دو رکعتیں پڑھیں۔ مختار بن فلفل کہتے ہیں: میں نے انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا: کیا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے آپ کو یہ نماز پڑھتے دیکھا تھا؟ انہوں نے کہا: ہاں، آپ نے ہم کو دیکھا تو نہ اس کا حکم دیا اور نہ اس سے منع کیا۔

English Translation

Narrated Anas bin Malik: I offered two rak'ahs of prayer before the Maghrib prayer (i. e. obligatory) during the time of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. I (narrator al-Mukhtar bin Fulful) asked Anas: Did the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم se you ? He replied: Yes, but he neither commanded us nor forbade us (to do so).
