حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ إِيَاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي السَّلِيلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَيُّ آيَةٍ مَعَكَ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ أَعْظَمُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَيُّ آيَةٍ مَعَكَ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ أَعْظَمُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُ لا إِلَهَ إِلا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ سورة البقرة آية 255، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَضَرَبَ فِي صَدْرِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لِيَهْنَ لَكَ يَا أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ الْعِلْمُ .

Urdu Translation

ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اے ابومنذر! ۱؎ کتاب اللہ کی کون سی آیت تمہارے نزدیک سب سے باعظمت ۲؎ ہے؟ ، میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ اور اس کے رسول زیادہ جانتے ہیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پھر فرمایا: ابومنذر! کتاب اللہ کی کون سی آیت تمہارے نزدیک سب سے بڑی ہے؟ ، میں نے عرض کیا: «الله لا إله إلا هو الحي القيوم» ، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے میرے سینے کو تھپتھپایا اور فرمایا: اے ابومنذر! تمہیں علم مبارک ہو ۔

English Translation

Ubayy bin Kab said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Abu al-Mundhir, which verse of Allah's Book that you have is creates ? I replied: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: Abu al-Mundhir, which verse of Allah's that you have is greatest ? I said: Allah, there is no god but He, the Living, the Eternal. Thereupon he struck me on the beast and said: May knowledge be pleasant for you, Abu al-Mundhir.
