حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ سَوَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ مَخْشِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ الْفِرَاسِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ الْفِرَاسِيّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَسْأَلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ كُنْتَ سَائِلًا لَا بُدَّ فَاسْأَلِ الصَّالِحِينَ .

Urdu Translation

ابن الفراسی سے روایت ہے کہ   فراسی نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا! اللہ کے رسول! کیا میں سوال کروں؟ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: نہیں اور اگر سوال کرنا ضروری ہی ہو تو نیک لوگوں سے سوال کرو ۔

English Translation

Narrated Ibn al-Firasi: Al-Firasi asked the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم: May I beg, Messenger of Allah? The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: No, but if there is no escape from it, beg from the upright.
