حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي شَيْخٍ الْهُنَائِيِّ خَيْوَانَ بْنِ خَلْدَةَ مِمَّنْ قَرَأَ عَلَى أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ بنَ أَبي سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ هَلْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَعَنْ رُكُوبِ جُلُودِ النُّمُورِ ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ نَهَى أَنْ يُقْرَنَ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ ؟ فَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ أَمَّا هَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَمَا إِنَّهَا مَعَهُنَّ وَلَكِنَّكُمْ نَسِيتُمْ .

Urdu Translation

ابوشیخ ہنائی خیوان بن خلدہ   ( جو اہل بصرہ میں سے ہیں اور ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ کے شاگرد ہیں ) سے روایت ہے کہ معاویہ بن ابی سفیان رضی اللہ عنہما نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے صحابہ کرام سے کہا: کیا تمہیں معلوم ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فلاں فلاں چیز سے روکا ہے اور چیتوں کی کھال پر سوار ہونے سے منع فرمایا ہے؟ لوگوں نے کہا: ہاں، پھر معاویہ نے پوچھا: تو کیا یہ بھی معلوم ہے کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( قران ) حج اور عمرہ دونوں کو ملانے سے منع فرمایا ہے؟ لوگوں نے کہا: رہی یہ بات تو ہم اسے نہیں جانتے، تو انہوں نے کہا: یہ بھی انہی ( ممنوعات ) میں سے ہے لیکن تم لوگ بھول گئے ۱؎۔

English Translation

Narrated Muawiyah ibn Abu Sufyan: Muawiyah said to the Companions of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم: Do you know that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم prohibited from doing so and so (and he prohibited from) riding on the skins of leopards? They said: Yes. He again said: You know that he prohibited combining hajj and Umrah. They replied: This we do not (know). He said: This was prohibited along with other things, but you forgot.
