حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُعِينٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا قَزْعَةَ يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْمُهَاجِرِ الْمَكِّيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سُئِلَ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَرَى الْبَيْتَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا كُنْتُ أَرَى أَحَدًا يَفْعَلُ هَذَا إِلَّا الْيَهُودَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ حَجَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَفْعَلُهُ .

Urdu Translation

مہاجر مکی کہتے ہیں کہ   جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما سے اس شخص کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا کہ جو بیت اللہ کو دیکھ کر ہاتھ اٹھاتا ہو تو انہوں نے کہا: میں سوائے یہود کے کسی کو ایسا کرتے نہیں دیکھتا تھا، اور ہم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ حج کیا، لیکن آپ ایسا نہیں کرتے تھے ۱؎۔

English Translation

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: was asked about a man who looks at the House (the Kabah) and raises his hands (for prayer). He replied: I did not find anyone doing this except the Jews. We performed hajj along with the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, but he did not do so.
