حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنِي رَسُولُ مَرْوَانَالَّذِي أُرْسِلَ إِلَى أُمِّ مَعْقَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ أَبُو مَعْقَلٍ حَاجًّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ أُمُّ مَعْقَلٍ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ عَلَيَّ حَجَّةً فَانْطَلَقَا يَمْشِيَانِ حَتَّى دَخَلَا عَلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّ عَلَيَّ حَجَّةً وَإِنَّ لِأَبِي مَعْقَلٍ بَكْرًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو مَعْقَلٍ:‏‏‏‏ صَدَقَتْ جَعَلْتُهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَعْطِهَا فَلْتَحُجَّ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنَّهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَعْطَاهَا الْبَكْرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ قَدْ كَبِرْتُ وَسَقِمْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَهَلْ مِنْ عَمَلٍ يُجْزِئُ عَنِّي مِنْ حَجَّتِي ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عُمْرَةٌ فِي رَمَضَانَ تُجْزِئُ حَجَّةً .

Urdu Translation

ابوبکر بن عبدالرحمٰن کہتے ہیں کہ   مجھے مروان کے قاصد ( جسے ام معقل رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس بھیجا گیا تھا ) نے خبر دی ہے کہ ام معقل کا بیان ہے کہ ابو معقل رضی اللہ عنہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ حج کو نکلنے والے تھے جب وہ آئے تو ام معقل رضی اللہ عنہا کہنے لگیں: آپ کو معلوم ہے کہ مجھ پر حج واجب ہے ۱؎، چنانچہ دونوں ( ام معقل اور ابو معقل رضی اللہ عنہما ) چلے اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، ام معقل نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! ابو معقل کے پاس ایک اونٹ ہے اور مجھ پر حج واجب ہے؟ ابو معقل نے کہا: یہ سچ کہتی ہے، میں نے اس اونٹ کو اللہ کی راہ میں دے دیا ہے، اس پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہ اونٹ اسے دے دو کہ وہ اس پر سوار ہو کر حج کر لے، یہ بھی اللہ کی راہ ہی میں ہے ، ابومعقل نے ام معقل کو اونٹ دے دیا، پھر وہ کہنے لگیں: اللہ کے رسول! میں عمر رسیدہ اور بیمار عورت ہوں ۲؎ کوئی ایسا کام ہے جو حج کی جگہ میرے لیے کافی ہو، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: رمضان میں عمرہ کرنا ( میرے ساتھ ) حج کرنے کی جگہ میں کافی ہے ۳؎ ۔

English Translation

Abu Bakr ibn Abdur Rahman said: The messenger of Marwan whom he sent to Umm Maqil reported to me. She said: Abu Maqil accompanied the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم during hajj. When he came (to her) she said: You know that hajj is incumbent on me. They walked until they visited him (i. e. the Prophet) and she asked (him): Messenger of Allah, hajj is due from me, and Abu Maqil has a camel. Abu Maqil said: She spoke the truth, I have dedicated it to the cause of Allah. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Give it to her, that is in the cause of Allah. So he gave the camel to her. She then said: Messenger of Allah, I am a woman who has become aged and ill. Is there any action which would be sufficient for me as my hajj? He replied: Umrah performed during Ramadan is sufficient as hajj.
