Sunan Abu Dawood 2418 - Fasting (Kitab Al-Siyam)

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَلَى أَبِيهِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ فَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِمَا طَعَامًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُلْ. فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ. فَقَالَ عَمْرٌو:‏‏‏‏ كُلْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَهَذِهِ الْأَيَّامُ الَّتِي كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُنَا بِإِفْطَارِهَا وَيَنْهَانَا عَنْ صِيَامِهَا. قَالَ مَالِكٌ:‏‏‏‏ وَهِيَ أَيَّامُ التَّشْرِيقِ .

Urdu Translation

ام ہانی رضی اللہ عنہا کے غلام ابو مرہ سے روایت ہے کہ   وہ عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما کے ہمراہ ان کے والد عمرو بن العاص رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس گئے تو انہوں نے دونوں کے لیے کھانا پیش کیا اور کہا کہ کھاؤ، تو عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا: میں تو روزے سے ہوں ، اس پر عمرو رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: کھاؤ کیونکہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمیں ان دنوں میں روزہ توڑ دینے کا حکم فرماتے اور روزہ رکھنے سے منع فرماتے تھے۔ مالک کا بیان ہے کہ یہ ایام تشریق کی بات ہے۔

English Translation

Abu Murrah, the client of Umm Hani, entered along with Abdullah bin Amr upon his father Amr bin 'As and he brought food for him. He said: Eat. He said: I am fasting. Amr said: Eat, these are the days on which the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to command us to break fast, and forbid us to keep fast. The narrator Malik said: These are the day of al-tashriq (i. e. 11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhu al-Hijjah).
