Sunan Abu Dawood 2437 - Fasting (Kitab Al-Siyam)

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْحُرِّ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هُنَيْدَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ امْرَأَتِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَن بَعْضِ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ تِسْعَ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ وَيَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ وَثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ أَوَّلَ اثْنَيْنِ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ وَالْخَمِيسَ .

Urdu Translation

ہنیدہ بن خالد کی بیوی سے روایت ہے کہ   وہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی کسی بیوی سے روایت کرتی ہیں، وہ کہتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ذی الحجہ کے ( شروع ) کے نو دنوں کا روزہ رکھتے، اور یوم عاشورہ ( دسویں محرم ) کا روزہ رکھتے نیز ہر ماہ تین دن یعنی مہینے کے پہلے پیر ( سوموار، دوشنبہ ) اور جمعرات کا روزہ رکھتے ۱؎۔

English Translation

Narrated One of the wives of the Prophet: Hunaydah ibn Khalid narrated from his wife on the authority of one of the wives of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم who said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to fast the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah, Ashura' and three days of every month, that is, the first Monday (of the month) and Thursday.
