حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ المعنى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَرِيَّةً إِلَى الْحُرَقَاتِ فَنَذِرُوا بِنَا فَهَرَبُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَدْرَكْنَا رَجُلًا فَلَمَّا غَشِينَاهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ فَضَرَبْنَاهُ حَتَّى قَتَلْنَاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ لَكَ بِلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ؟ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّمَا قَالَهَا مَخَافَةَ السِّلَاحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَفَلَا شَقَقْتَ عَنْ قَلْبِهِ حَتَّى تَعْلَمَ مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ قَالَهَا أَمْ لَا مَنْ لَكَ بِلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ؟ . فَمَا زَالَ يَقُولُهَا حَتَّى وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أُسْلِمْ إِلَّا يَوْمَئِذٍ.

Urdu Translation

اسامہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں حرقات ۱؎ کی طرف ایک سریہ میں بھیجا، تو ان کافروں کو ہمارے آنے کا علم ہو گیا، چنانچہ وہ سب بھاگ کھڑے ہوئے، لیکن ہم نے ایک آدمی کو پکڑ لیا، جب ہم نے اسے گھیرے میں لے لیا تو«لا إله إلا الله» کہنے لگا ( اس کے باوجود ) ہم نے اسے مارا یہاں تک کہ اسے قتل کر دیا، پھر میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کا ذکر کیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: قیامت کے دن «لا إله إلا الله» کے سامنے تیری مدد کون کرے گا؟ میں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! اس نے یہ بات تلوار کے ڈر سے کہی تھی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم نے اس کا دل پھاڑ کر دیکھ کیوں نہیں لیا کہ ۲؎ اس نے کلمہ تلوار کے ڈر سے پڑھا ہے یا ( تلوار کے ڈر سے ) نہیں ( بلکہ اسلام کے لیے ) ؟ قیامت کے دن «لا إله إلا الله»کے سامنے تیری مدد کون کرے گا؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم برابر یہی بات فرماتے رہے، یہاں تک کہ میں نے سوچا کاش کہ میں آج ہی اسلام لایا ہوتا۔
