حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الرُّمَاةِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ وَكَانُوا خَمْسِينَ رَجُلًا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنْ رَأَيْتُمُونَا تَخْطِفُنَا الطَّيْرُ فَلَا تَبْرَحُوا مِنْ مَكَانِكُمْ هَذَا حَتَّى أُرْسِلَ إلَيْكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ رَأَيْتُمُونَا هَزَمْنَا الْقَوْمَ وَأَوْطَأْنَاهُمْ فَلَا تَبْرَحُوا حَتَّى أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَهَزَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَأَنَا وَاللَّهِ رَأَيْتُ النِّسَاءَ يَشْتَدِدْنَ عَلَى الْجَبَلِ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَصْحَابُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ:‏‏‏‏ الْغَنِيمَةَ أَيْ قَوْمِ الْغَنِيمَةَ ظَهَرَ أَصْحَابُكُمْ فَمَا تَنْتَظِرُونَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَسِيتُمْ مَا قَالَ لَكُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ وَاللَّهِ لَنَأْتِيَنَّ النَّاسَ فَلَنُصِيبَنَّ مِنَ الْغَنِيمَةِ فَأَتَوْهُمْ فَصُرِفَتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ وَأَقْبَلُوا مُنْهَزِمِينَ.

Urdu Translation

براء رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے جنگ احد میں عبداللہ بن جبیر رضی اللہ عنہ کو تیر اندازوں کا امیر بنایا ان کی تعداد پچاس تھی اور فرمایا: اگر تم دیکھو کہ ہم کو پرندے اچک رہے ہیں پھر بھی اپنی اس جگہ سے نہ ہٹنا یہاں تک کہ میں تمہیں بلاؤں اور اگر تم دیکھو کہ ہم نے کافروں کو شکست دے دی ہے، انہیں روند ڈالا ہے، پھر بھی اس جگہ سے نہ ہٹنا، یہاں تک کہ میں تمہیں بلاؤں ، پھر اللہ تعالیٰ نے کافروں کو شکست دی اور اللہ کی قسم میں نے مشرکین کی عورتوں کو دیکھا کہ بھاگ کر پہاڑوں پر چڑھنے لگیں، عبداللہ بن جبیر کے ساتھی کہنے لگے: لوگو! غنیمت، غنیمت، تمہارے ساتھی غالب آ گئے تو اب تمہیں کس چیز کا انتظار ہے؟ اس پر عبداللہ بن جبیر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: کیا تم وہ بات بھول گئے جو تم سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کہی ہے؟ تو ان لوگوں نے کہا: اللہ کی قسم! ہم ضرور مشرکین کے پاس جائیں گے اور مال غنیمت لوٹیں گے، چنانچہ وہ ہٹ گئے تو اللہ نے ان کے منہ پھیر دئیے اور وہ شکست کھا کر واپس آئے۔

English Translation

Al Bara bin Azib said “On the day of the battle of Uhud the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم appointed Abd Allaah bin Jubair commander of the archers who were fifty (in number). He said “If you see that the birds are snatching at us, do not move from this place of yours until I send for you and if you see that we defeated the people (the enemy) and trod them down, do not move until I send for you. Allaah then defeated them. He (narrator) said “I swear by Allaah, I saw women ascending the mountain. The companions of Abd Allaah bin Jubair said “Booty, O People, booty! Your companions vanquished, for what are you waiting?” ‘Ad Allaah bin Jubair said “Have you forgotten what the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم had told you?” They said “We swear by Allaah. We shall come to the people and get the booty. So they came to them. Their faces were turned and they came defeated. ”
