Sunan Abu Dawood 2709 - Jihad (Kitab Al-Jihad)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يُوسُفَ بْنِ إِسْحَاق بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاق السُّبَيْعِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْأَبِي إِسْحَاق السُّبَيْعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَرَرْتُ فَإِذَا أَبُو جَهْلٍ صَرِيعٌ قَدْ ضُرِبَتْ رِجْلُهُ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ يَا أَبَا جَهْلٍ قَدْ أَخْزَى اللَّهُ الْأَخِرَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَلَا أَهَابُهُ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَبْعَدُ مِنْ رَجُلٍ قَتَلَهُ قَوْمُهُ فَضَرَبْتُهُ بِسَيْفٍ غَيْرِ طَائِلٍ فَلَمْ يُغْنِ شَيْئًا حَتَّى سَقَطَ سَيْفُهُ مِنْ يَدِهِ فَضَرَبْتُهُ بِهِ حَتَّى بَرَدَ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں ( غزوہ بدر میں ) گزرا تو ابوجہل کو پڑا ہوا دیکھا، اس کا پاؤں زخمی تھا، میں نے کہا: اللہ کے دشمن! ابوجہل! آخر اللہ نے اس شخص کو جو اس کی رحمت سے دور تھا ذلیل کر ہی دیا، عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ اس وقت میں اس سے ڈر نہیں رہا تھا، اس پر اس نے کہا: اس سے زیادہ تو کوئی بات نہیں ہوئی ہے کہ ایک شخص کو اس کی قوم نے مار ڈالا اور یہ کوئی عار کی بات نہیں، پھر میں نے اسے کند تلوار سے مارا لیکن وار کارگر نہ ہوا یہاں تک کہ اس کی تلوار اس کے ہاتھ سے گر پڑی، تو اسی کی تلوار سے میں نے اس کو ( دوبارہ ) مارا یہاں تک کہ وہ ٹھنڈا ہو گیا۔

English Translation

Narrated Abdullah ibn Masud: I passed when Abu Jahl had fallen as his foot was struck (with the swords). I said: O enemy of Allah, Abu Jahl, Allah has disgraced a man who was far away from His mercy. I did not fear him at that moment. He replied: It is most strange that a man has been killed by his people. I struck him with a blunt sword. But it did not work, and then his sword fell down from his hand, I struck him with it until he became dead.
