Sunan Abu Dawood 2730 - Jihad (Kitab Al-Jihad)

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُفَضَّلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَيْرٌ مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ شَهِدْتُ خَيْبَرَ مَعَ سَادَتِي فَكَلَّمُوا فِيَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَرَ بِي فَقُلِّدْتُ سَيْفًا فَإِذَا أَنَا أَجُرُّهُ فَأُخْبِرَ أَنِّي مَمْلُوكٌ فَأَمَرَ لِي بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ خُرْثِيِّ الْمَتَاعِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ مَعْنَاهُ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُسْهِمْ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَقَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ حَرَّمَ اللَّحْمَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ فَسُمِّيَ آبِي اللَّحْمِ.

Urdu Translation

محمد بن زیاد کہتے ہیں کہ مجھ سے عمیر مولی آبی اللحم نے بیان کیا وہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں جنگ خیبر میں اپنے مالکوں کے ساتھ گیا، انہوں نے میرے سلسلے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے گفتگو کی تو آپ نے مجھے ( ہتھیار پہننے اور مجاہدین کے ساتھ رہنے کا ) حکم دیا، چنانچہ میرے گلے میں ایک تلوار لٹکائی گئی تو میں اسے ( اپنی کم سنی اور کوتاہ قامتی کی وجہ سے زمین پر ) گھسیٹ رہا تھا، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو بتایا گیا کہ میں غلام ہوں تو آپ نے مجھے گھر کے سامانوں میں سے کچھ سامان دیئے جانے کا حکم دیا۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اس کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے لیے حصہ مقرر نہیں کیا، ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: انہوں ( آبی اللحم ) نے اپنے اوپر گوشت حرام کر لیا تھا، اسی وجہ سے ان کا نام آبی اللحم رکھ دیا گیا۔

English Translation

Narrated Umayr, client of AbulLahm: I was present at Khaybar along with my masters who spoke about me to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He ordered about me, and a sword was girded on me and I was trailing it. He was then informed that I was a slave. He, therefore, ordered that I should be given some inferior goods. Abu Dawud said: This means that he (the Prophet) did not allot a portion of the spoils. Abu Dawud said: Abu Ubaid said: As he (the narrator Abi al-Lahm) made eating meat unlawful on himself, he was called Abi al-Lahm (one who hates meat).
