حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِشَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ امْرَأَةً قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أُمِّي افْتُلِتَتْ نَفْسُهَا وَلَوْلَا ذَلِكَ لَتَصَدَّقَتْ وَأَعْطَتْ أَفَيُجْزِئُ أَنْ أَتَصَدَّقَ عَنْهَا ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ فَتَصَدَّقِي عَنْهَا .

Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا فرماتی ہیں کہ   ایک عورت نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرض کیا: میری ماں اچانک انتقال کر گئیں، اگر ایسا نہ ہوتا تو وہ ضرور صدقہ کرتیں اور ( اللہ کی راہ میں ) دیتیں، تو کیا اگر میں ان کی طرف سے صدقہ کروں تو یہ انہیں کفایت کرے گا؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ہاں تو ان کی طرف سے صدقہ کر دو ۱؎ ۔

English Translation

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: A woman said: Messenger of Allah, my mother suddenly died; if it had not happened, she would have given sadaqah (charity) and donated (something). Will it suffice if I give sadaqah on her behalf? The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Yes, give sadaqah on her behalf.
