Baab Ghulam Ki Azadi Ke Ehkaam O Masail

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا حَضَرْتُمُ الْمَيِّتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُولُوا خَيْرًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ يُؤَمِّنُونَ عَلَى مَا تَقُولُونَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا مَاتَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَا أَقُولُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُولِي:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَعْقِبْنَا عُقْبَى صَالِحَةً . قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ فَأَعْقَبَنِي اللَّهُ تَعَالَى بِهِ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب تم کسی مرنے والے شخص کے پاس جاؤ تو بھلی بات کہو ۱؎ اس لیے کہ فرشتے تمہارے کہے پر آمین کہتے ہیں ، تو جب ابوسلمہ رضی اللہ عنہ ( ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے شوہر ) انتقال کر گئے تو میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کہا کہ میں کیا کہوں؟ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم کہو: «اللهم اغفر له وأعقبنا عقبى صالحة» اے اللہ! ان کو بخش دے اور مجھے ان کا نعم البدل عطا فرما ۔ ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں: تو مجھے اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کے بدلے میں محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو عنایت فرمایا۔

English Translation

Narrated Umm Salamah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم: When you attend dying man, you should say good words, for the angels say Amin to what you say. When Abu Salamah died, I said: What should I say, Messenger of Allah? He said: O Allah forgive him, and give us something good in exchange. She said: So Allah gave me Muhammad صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم in exchange for him.
