حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ يَزِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي حَبِيبٍأَخْبَرَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أَبَا الْخَيْرِ حَدَّثَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَذَرَتْ أُخْتِي أَنْ تَمْشِيَ إِلَى بَيْتِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَمَرَتْنِي أَنْ أَسْتَفْتِيَ لَهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَاسْتَفْتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لِتَمْشِ وَلْتَرْكَبْ .

Urdu Translation

عقبہ بن عامر جہنی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں   میری بہن نے بیت اللہ پیدل جانے کی نذر مانی اور مجھے حکم دیا کہ میں اس کے لیے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے مسئلہ پوچھ کر آؤں ( کہ میں کیا کروں ) تو میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا تو آپ نے فرمایا: چاہیئے کہ پیدل بھی چلے اور سوار بھی ہو ۔

English Translation

Narrated Uqbah bin Amir al-Juhani: My sister took a vow to walk on foot to the House of Allah (i. e. Kabah). She asked me to consult the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم about her. So I consulted the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He said: Let her walk and ride.
