حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ النَّاسُ مُهَّانَ أَنْفُسِهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَرُوحُونَ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ بِهَيْئَتِهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقِيلَ لَهُمْ:‏‏‏‏ لَوِ اغْتَسَلْتُمْ .

Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   لوگ اپنے کام خود کرتے تھے، اور جمعہ کے لیے اسی حالت میں چلے جاتے تھے ( ان کی بو سے لوگوں کو تکلیف ہوتی تھی، جب اس کا ذکر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ہوا ) تو ان لوگوں سے کہا گیا: کاش تم لوگ غسل کر کے آتے ۔

English Translation

Aishah said: The people (mostly) were workers and they would come for Friday prayer in the same condition, so it was said to them: If only you were to perform Ghusl.
