حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنُ أَبِي خَلَفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ أَنْ يَغْرِزَ خَشَبَةً فِي جِدَارِهِ فَلَا يَمْنَعُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَنَكَّسُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ قَدْ أَعْرَضْتُمْ ؟ لَأُلْقِيَنَّهَا بَيْنَ أَكْتَافِكُمْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَهَذَا حَدِيثُ ابْنِ أَبِي خَلَفٍ وَهُوَ أَتَمُّ.

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب تم میں سے کوئی اپنے بھائی سے اس کی دیوار میں لکڑی گاڑنے کی اجازت طلب کرے تو وہ اسے نہ روکے یہ سن کر لوگوں نے سر جھکا لیا تو ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: کیا بات ہے جو میں تمہیں اس حدیث سے اعراض کرتے ہوئے دیکھ رہا ہوں، میں تو اسے تمہارے شانوں کے درمیان ڈال ہی کر رہوں گا ( یعنی اسے تم سے بیان کر کے ہی چھوڑوں گا ) ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: یہ ابن ابی خلف کی حدیث ہے اور زیادہ کامل ہے۔

English Translation

Abu Hurairah reported the Holy Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: When one of you asks permission for inserting a wooden peg in his wall, he should not prevent him. So they (the people) lowered down their heads. Then he (Abu Hurairah) said: What is the matter ? I am seeing you are neglecting (to hear this tradition), I shall spread it among you. Abu Dawud said: This is the tradition of Ibn Abi Khalaf is more perfect.
