حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: اقْرَأْ عَلَيَّ سُورَةَ النِّسَاءِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: أَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَيْكَ أُنْزِلَ ؟، قَالَ: إِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَسْمَعَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِي، قَالَ: فَقَرَأْتُ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى إِذَا انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِشَهِيدٍ سورة النساء آية 41، فَرَفَعْتُ رَأْسِي، فَإِذَا عَيْنَاهُ تَهْمِلَانِ .
عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں مجھ سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم مجھ پر سورۃ نساء پڑھو میں نے عرض کیا: کیا میں آپ کو پڑھ کے سناؤں؟ جب کہ وہ آپ پر اتاری گئی ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میں چاہتا ہوں کہ میں اوروں سے سنوں پھر میں نے آپ کو «فكيف إذا جئنا من كل أمة بشهيد» اس وقت کیا ہو گا جب ہم ہر امت سے ایک گواہ لائیں گے ( سورة النساء: ۴۱ ) تک پڑھ کر سنایا، اور اپنا سر اٹھایا تو کیا دیکھتا ہوں کہ آپ کی دونوں آنکھوں سے آنسو جاری ہے۔
Abd Allah (bin Masud) said: The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلمsaid to me: recite Surat al-Nisa’. I asked: Shail I recite to you what was sent down to you ? He replied: I like to here it from someone else. So I recite (it) until I reached this verse “How then shall it be when We bring from every people a witness ?”. Then raised my head and saw tears falling from his eyes.
