حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ شَرَابٍ مِنَ الْعَسَلِ ؟ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ ذَاكَ الْبِتْعُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ وَيُنْتَبَذُ مِنَ الشَّعِيرِ وَالذُّرَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ ذَلِكَ الْمِزْرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبِرْ قَوْمَكَ أَنَّ كُلَّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ .

Urdu Translation

ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے شہد کی شراب کے متعلق پوچھا تو آپ نے فرمایا: وہ بتع ہے میں نے کہا: جو اور مکئی سے بھی شراب بنائی جاتی ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: وہ مزر ہے پھر آپ نے فرمایا: اپنی قوم کو بتا دو کہ ہر نشہ آور چیز حرام ہے ۔

English Translation

Abu Musa said: I asked the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم about wine made from honey. He said: That is bit. I said: And the one made from barley and millet ? He said: That is mizr. He then said: Tell your people that every intoxicant is prohibited.
