حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ضَمْرَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْغَرِيفِ بْنِ الدَّيْلَمِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَيْنَا وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْنَا لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ حَدِّثْنَا حَدِيثًا لَيْسَ فِيهِ زِيَادَةٌ وَلَا نُقْصَانٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَغَضِبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيَقْرَأُ وَمُصْحَفُهُ مُعَلَّقٌ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَيَزِيدُ وَيَنْقُصُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْنَا:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا أَرَدْنَا حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي صَاحِبٍ لَنَا أَوْجَبَ يَعْنِي النَّارَ بِالْقَتْلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَعْتِقُوا عَنْهُ يُعْتِقِ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهُ عُضْوًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ .

Urdu Translation

غریف بن دیلمی کہتے ہیں   ہم واثلہ بن اسقع رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آئے اور ہم نے ان سے کہا: آپ ہم سے کوئی حدیث بیان کیجئے جس میں کوئی زیادتی و کمی نہ ہو، تو وہ ناراض ہو گئے اور بولے: تم میں سے کوئی قرآن پڑھتا ہے اور اس کے گھر میں مصحف لٹک رہا ہے تو وہ اس میں کمی و زیادتی کرتا ہے، ہم نے کہا: ہمارا مقصد یہ ہے کہ آپ ہم سے ایسی حدیث بیان کریں جسے آپ نے ( براہ راست ) نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنی ہو، تو انہوں نے کہا: ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں اپنے ایک ساتھی کا مسئلہ لے کر آئے جس نے قتل کا ارتکاب کر کے اپنے اوپر جہنم کو واجب کر لیا تھا، آپ نے فرمایا: اس کی طرف سے غلام آزاد کرو، اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے ہرہر جوڑ کے بدلہ اس کا ہر جوڑ جہنم سے آزاد کر دے گا ۔

English Translation

Narrated Wathilah ibn al-Asqa: Al-Arif ibn ad-Daylami said: We went to Wathilah ibn al-Asqa and said to him: Tell us a tradition which has not addition or omission. He became angry and replied: One of you recites when his copy of a Quran is hung up in his house, and he makes additions and omissions. We said: All we mean is a tradition you have heard from the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He said: We went to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم about a friend of ours who deserved. Hell for murder. He said: Emancipate a slave on his behalf; Allah will set free from Hell a member of the body for every member of his.
