حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنِي صَفْوَانُ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ: النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ لَا تَعْجِزَ أُمَّتِي عِنْدَ رَبِّهَا أَنْ يُؤَخِّرَهُمْ نِصْفُ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ ؟ قَالَ: خَمْسُ مِائَةِ سَنَةٍ .
سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میں امید رکھتا ہوں کہ میری امت اتنی تو عاجز نہ ہو گی کہ اللہ اس کو آدھے دن کی مہلت نہ دے ۔ سعد رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا گیا کہ آدھے دن سے کیا مراد ہے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: پانچ سو سال۔
Narrated Saad ibn Abu Waqqas: The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: I hope my community will not fail to maintain their position in the sight of their Lord if He delays them half a day. Saad was asked: How long is half a day? He said: It is five hundred years.
