Sunan Abu Dawood 4358 - Prescribed Punishments (Kitab Al-Hudud)

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَزِيدَ النَّحْوِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ يَكْتُبُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَزَلَّهُ الشَّيْطَانُ فَلَحِقَ بِالْكُفَّارِ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُقْتَلَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَاسْتَجَارَ لَهُ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ فَأَجَارَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   عبداللہ بن سعد بن ابی سرح ۱؎ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا منشی تھا، پھر شیطان نے اس کو بہکا لیا، اور وہ کافروں سے جا ملا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فتح مکہ کے دن اس کے قتل کا حکم دیا، پھر عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کے لیے امان مانگی تو آپ نے اسے امان دی۔

English Translation

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: Abdullah ibn Abu Sarh used to write (the revelation) for the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Satan made him slip, and he joined the infidels. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم commanded to kill him on the day of Conquest (of Makkah). Uthman ibn Affan sought protection for him. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم gave him protection.
