حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أُرِيَ اللَّيْلَةَ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ نِيطَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَنِيطَ عُمَرُ بِأَبِي بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَنِيطَ عُثْمَانُ بِعُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ جَابِرٌ:‏‏‏‏ فَلَمَّا قُمْنَا مِنْ عِنْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْنَا:‏‏‏‏ أَمَّا الرَّجُلُ الصَّالِحُ فَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَمَّا تَنَوُّطُ بَعْضِهِمْ بِبَعْضٍ فَهُمْ وُلَاةُ هَذَا الْأَمْرِ الَّذِي بَعَثَ اللَّهُ بِهِ نَبِيَّهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَاهُ يُونُسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَشُعَيْبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَمْ يَذْكُرَا عَمْرَو بْنَ أَبَانَ.

Urdu Translation

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما بیان کرتے تھے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: آج کی رات ایک صالح شخص کو خواب میں دکھایا گیا کہ ابوبکر کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے جوڑ دیا گیا ہے، اور عمر کو ابوبکر سے اور عثمان کو عمر سے ۔ جابر کہتے ہیں: جب ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس سے اٹھ کر آئے تو ہم نے کہا: مرد صالح سے مراد تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہیں، اور بعض کا بعض سے جوڑے جانے کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ یہی لوگ اس امر ( دین ) کے والی ہوں گے جس کے ساتھ اللہ نے اپنے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو مبعوث فرمایا ہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اسے یونس اور شعیب نے بھی روایت کیا ہے، لیکن ان دونوں نے عمرو بن ابان کا ذکر نہیں کیا ہے۔

English Translation

Jabir bin Abdullah reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: Last night a good man had a vision in which Abu Bakr seemed to be joined to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Umar to Abu Bakr, and Uthman to Umar. Jabir said: When we got up and left the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, we said: The good man is the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and that their being joined together means that they are the rulers over this matter with which Allah has sent His Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Abu Dawud said: It has been transmitted by Yunus and Shuaib, but they did not mention Amr bin Aban.
