حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ يَعْنِي عَبْدَ الْمَلِكِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْإِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي أَسِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَدِّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْحَسَدَ فَإِنَّ الْحَسَدَ يَأْكُلُ الْحَسَنَاتِ كَمَا تَأْكُلُ النَّارُ الْحَطَبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْعُشْبَ .

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم لوگ حسد سے بچو، اس لیے کہ حسد نیکیوں کو ایسے کھا لیتا ہے، جیسے آگ ایندھن کو کھا لیتی ہے یا کہا گھاس کو ( کھا لیتی ہے ) ۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Avoid envy, for envy devours good deeds just as fire devours fuel or (he said) grass.
