حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْحَرَّانِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ فِي آخَرِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَتَى بَابَ قَوْمٍ لَمْ يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْبَابَ مِنْ تِلْقَاءِ وَجْهِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَكِنْ مِنْ رُكْنِهِ الْأَيْمَنِ أَوِ الْأَيْسَرِ وَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمُ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ الدُّورَ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَلَيْهَا يَوْمَئِذٍ سُتُورٌ .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن بسر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب کسی کے دروازے پر آتے تو دروازہ کے سامنے منہ کر کے نہ کھڑے ہوتے بلکہ دروازے کے چوکھٹ کے دائیں یا بائیں جانب کھڑے ہوتے، اور کہتے: السلام علیکم، السلام علیکم یہ ان دنوں کی بات ہے جب گھروں میں دروازوں پر پردے نہیں تھے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abdullah ibn Busr: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came to some people's door, he did not face it squarely, but faced the right or left corner, and said: Peace be upon you! peace be upon you! That was because there were no curtains on the doors of the house at that time.
