Sunan Abu Dawood 596 - Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ بُدَيْلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَطِيَّةَ مَوْلًى مِنَّا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ حُوَيْرِثٍ يَأْتِينَا إِلَى مُصَلَّانَا هَذَا فَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْنَا لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ تَقَدَّمْ فَصَلِّهْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَنَا:‏‏‏‏ قَدِّمُوا رَجُلًا مِنْكُمْ يُصَلِّي بِكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَأُحَدِّثُكُمْ لِمَ لَا أُصَلِّي بِكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ زَارَ قَوْمًا فَلَا يَؤُمَّهُمْ وَلْيَؤُمَّهُمْ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ .

Urdu Translation

بدیل کہتے ہیں کہ ہمارے ایک غلام ابوعطیہ نے ہم سے بیان کیا کہ   مالک بن حویرث رضی اللہ عنہ ہماری اس مسجد میں آتے تھے، ( ایک بار ) نماز کے لیے تکبیر کہی گئی تو ہم نے ان سے کہا: آپ آگے بڑھئیے اور نماز پڑھائیے، انہوں نے ہم سے کہا: تم اپنے لوگوں میں سے کسی کو آگے بڑھاؤ تاکہ وہ تمہیں نماز پڑھائے، میں ابھی تم لوگوں بتاؤں گا کہ میں تمہیں نماز کیوں نہیں پڑھا رہا ہوں؟ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا ہے: جو شخص کسی قوم کی زیارت کے لیے جائے تو وہ ان کی امامت نہ کرے بلکہ انہیں لوگوں میں سے کوئی آدمی ان کی امامت کرے ۱؎ ۔

English Translation

Abu Atiyyah, a freed slave of us, said: Malik bin al-Huwairith came to this place of prayer of ours, and the iqamah for prayer was called. We said to him: Come forward and lead the prayer. He said to us: Put one of your own men forward to lead you in prayer. I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: If anyone visits people, he should not lead them in prayer, but some person of them should lead the prayer.
