حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَوْ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا كَانَ لِأَحَدِكُمْ ثَوْبَانِ فَلْيُصَلِّ فِيهِمَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ إِلَّا ثَوْبٌ وَاحِدٌ فَلْيَتَّزِرْ بِهِ وَلَا يَشْتَمِلِ اشْتِمَالَ الْيَهُودِ .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: جب تم میں سے کسی کے پاس دو کپڑے ہوں تو چاہیئے کہ ان دونوں میں نماز پڑھے، اور اگر ایک ہی کپڑا ہو تو چاہیئے کہ اسے تہہ بند بنا لے اور اسے یہودیوں کی طرح نہ لٹکائے ۱؎ ۔

English Translation

Ibn Umar reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying, or reported Umar as saying (the narrator is doubtful): if one of you has two (piece of) cloth, he should pray in them; if he has a single (piece of) cloth, he should use it as a wrapper, and should not hang it upon the shoulder like the Jews.
