حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَحْسَبُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى غَيْرِ سُتْرَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّهُ يَقْطَعُ صَلَاتَهُ الْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْخِنْزِيرُ وَالْيَهُودِيُّ وَالْمَجُوسِيُّ وَالْمَرْأَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُجْزِئُ عَنْهُ إِذَا مَرُّوا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ عَلَى قَذْفَةٍ بِحَجَرٍ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ فِي نَفْسِي مِنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ شَيْءٌ كُنْتُ أُذَاكِرُ بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَغَيْرَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا جَاءَ بِهِ عَنْ هِشَامٍ وَلَا يَعْرِفُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا يُحَدِّثُ بِهِ عَنْ هِشَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَحْسَبُ الْوَهْمَ مِنْ ابْنِ أَبِي سَمِينَةَ يَعْنِي مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْبَصْرِيَّ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ وَالْمُنْكَرُ فِيهِ ذِكْرُ الْمَجُوسِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِيهِ عَلَى قَذْفَةٍ بِحَجَرٍ وَذِكْرُ الْخِنْزِيرِ وَفِيهِ نَكَارَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ إِلَّا مِنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي سَمِينَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَحْسَبُهُ وَهِمَ لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُنَا مِنْ حِفْظِهِ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں، عکرمہ کہتے ہیں کہ میرا گمان ہے کہ وہ اسے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں: جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص بغیر سترہ کے نماز پڑھے تو اس کی نماز کتا، گدھا، سور، یہودی، مجوسی اور عورت کے گزرنے سے باطل ہو جاتی ہے، البتہ اگر یہ ایک پتھر کی مار کی دوری سے گزریں تو نماز ہو جائے گی ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اس حدیث کے سلسلے میں میرے دل میں کچھ کھٹک اور شبہ ہے، میں اس حدیث کے متعلق ابراہیم اور دوسرے لوگوں سے مذاکرہ کرتا یعنی پوچھتا تھا کہ کیا معاذ کے علاوہ کسی اور نے بھی یہ حدیث ہشام سے روایت کی ہے، تو کسی نے مجھے اس کا جواب نہیں دیا اور کسی کو نہیں معلوم تھا کہ اسے ہشام سے کسی اور نے بھی روایت کیا ہے یا نہیں، اور نہ ہی میں نے کسی کو اسے ہشام سے روایت کرتے دیکھا ( سوائے معاذ کے ) ، میرا خیال ہے کہ یہ ابن ابی سمینہ ( یعنی بنی ہاشم کے آزاد کردہ غلام محمد بن اسماعیل بصریٰ ) کا وہم ہے، اس میں مجوسی کا ذکر منکر ہے، اور اس میں پتھر کی مار کی دوری، اور خنزیر کا ذکر ہے، اس میں بھی نکارت ہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: میں نے یہ حدیث محمد بن اسماعیل بن سمینہ کے علاوہ کسی اور سے نہیں سنی، اور میرا خیال ہے کہ انہیں وہم ہوا ہے، کیونکہ وہ ہم سے اپنے حافظے سے حدیثیں بیان کیا کرتے تھے

English Translation

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: Ikrimah reported on the authority of Ibn Abbas, saying: I think the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: When one of you prays without a sutrah, a dog, an ass, a pig, a Jew, a Magian, and a woman cut off his prayer, but it will suffice if they pass in front of him at a distance of over a stone's throw. Abu Dawud said: There is something about this tradition in my heart. I used to discuss it with Ibrahim and others. I did not find anyone who narrated it from Hisham and knew it. I did not know anyone who reported it from Hisham and knew it. I did not know anyone who related it from Hisham. I think the confusion is on the part of Ibn Abi Saminah that is, Muhammad bin Ismail al-Basri, the freed slave of Banu Hisham. In this tradition the mention of words a Magian is rejected; the mention of the words at a stone's throw and a pig is rejected. Abu Dawud said: I did not hear this tradition except from Muhammad bin Ismail bin Samurrah and I think he was mistaken because he used to narrate to us from his memory.
